LEGO Friends, City, Star Wars Advent Calendar Day Sixteen Review.

Hello and welcome back for Day 16 in our countdown towards Christmas. Today we have a couple of things that are basically continued from previous day reveals. In particular the City and Star Wars Calendars have a continuing theme going on.
So lets see what they are.






On this overcast Monday morning Chloe opened her Friends Calendar door to reveal a table. Is it a table? The more I look at it the more it seems like a flower in a bed of snow and 2 pairs of ice skates sitting on top of a foot stool. The use of 1x4 plates in both White and Reddish Brown instead of 2x4 plates, I suspect it is to push up the parts count in the overall Calendar.

Today in my City Calendar I got 4 wheels and Tyres and a oil/fuel drum. I going to go out on a limb here and say ***SPOILER*** a Go kart tomorrow. :-P I'm Guessing we are halfway through this little sub theme and Day 18 will start a fresh. 

 For now this is how I am using yesterdays little mystery accessory. As a pneumatic gun to change tyres. Unless it is an engine... we will have to wait and see... and if it fits in nicely that's what it will be...

Just a spare nozzle for today.

Just like the last 2 days were Geonosian inspired, today is no different. Jaspa got another gun rack, with a Geonosian feel to it. He also got a Geonosian Sonic Blaster and a Clone Blaster. When Jasper first saw the picture he thought it was a droid. huh... it kinda does.

A couple of spares.

As you can imagine Jaspa is loving his new gun rack, just like he did back in day 7. Right now he has his Sonic Blaster on his "ugly man" (as he likes to calls him) and is at war with his Clone trooper. He switches the blasters from both racks quite frequently. Chloe loves the little ice skates! She didn't really get a chance to play with them on our frozen pond  in our nativity scene, because she had to go to school. But I am sure when she gets home that's the first thing she will do.

Well that's another day out of the way.

LEGO Friends, City, Star Wars Advent Calendar Day Fifteen Review.

Good morning! Welcome back for day 15 in our Calendar countdown. It's hard to believe that it has been 2 weeks today since we first started. Including today I have shot, cropped and edited  118 photos for these countdown reviews. That's 118 you have seen, with many more that you will never see ;-)
Oh my there's only 10 days to go till Christmas! I haven't even begun to do any Christmas Shopping! Are you ready?
Lets see what we got today...





In Chloe's Friends Advent Calendar got this lovely looking park bench/seat. it took 10 pieces to build this beauty. I think the Reddish Brown and the Medium Azure combo works rather nicely.

 Here is a little scene I quickly put together with some of the previous days openings.

Today in my City Calendar I got this Octan race driver/mechanic with what I think is meant to be some part of an engine block or possibly a Tyre changer?  The Minifigure has a single printed face and printing on both side of his torso.

Some very generous spares with this build today. Lets see if any of these will be integrated into the builds in the next few days.

Jaspa got to build a Geonosian this morning. Or as he likes to call him "ugly man" He has printing pretty much everywhere on his face, legs and both sides of his torso. At least this Geonosian has something to play with... yesterdays build. Even he doesn't look happy with it. ;-P

Chloe and Jaspa enjoyed their builds today. They are still eager to open them each day but I think the excitement is stating to die down. I think what needs to be done is have a double sized build halfway into the Calendar to get them pumped up again for the big day.

LEGO Friends, City, Star Wars Advent Calendar Day Fourteen Review.

Welcome to Day 14 in our Advent Calendar countdown. I tried to have a little sleep in this morning but it really didn't work. Last night I set up 2 oval train tracks, one inside the other in front of our Christmas tree. The kids haven't stop playing with it and this morning they woke me up early to ask if they could continue playing with it. I said they could but not before opening their Calendars... Now that I'm awake we might as well get them out of the way.
This is what we got... (with the sounds of Trains running behind me)




Chloe got a water fountain in her Calendar this morning. This is our very first rock crystal in this color. She loves how cute it looks and wants to add it to our Winter Village.

 Today's spare...

In my Calendar I got a pair of 2x3 presents. I don't know why, but I love these little things at this size even the ones from the Make and Take Event  the other day look cool. I love today's color combo with the "Ribbon Look" effect.

Here is a photo of day 12's Christmas Tree with a spare star from yesterday and today's presents. A neat combo!

Today Jaspa got a snapping crocodile head!... Joking - It's a Geonosian Fighter ship. A very odd looking attempt. Even Jaspa asked if it was crocodile.

Today's spares... and a lot more if you scrap the above model.

As always the kids enjoyed their models today, even if I think Jaspa's is disappointing to look at. He is having fun swooshing around his new flying Croc head. Chloe thinks her build was "so Cute!" and has added it to the Winter Village under our tree, right next to the frozen pond.

LEGO Friends, City, Star Wars Advent Calendar Day Thirteen Review.

Welcome to Day 13. There are only 12 day to Christmas. It's coming up waaaay too fast! While I am writing this my wife has begun to wrap the presents for the big day. It's the best time to get them done while Chloe is at school, and Jaspa is occupied with one of my 1980's G1 Transformers DVD. If LEGO did Transformers instead of Kreo we would have a large collection for sure. Anyway lets see what we got today...





In today's Friends Calendar Chloe got the second section to the sleigh/scooter from Day 2. Now both Mini-dolls have transportation to go between the stalls.

In my City Calendar I got this astronaut. He has printing on both sides of his torso and a single face print. According to Brickset he is only in one other set 30016: Satellite, but looking at 3368: Space Centre he seems to be in that set too. In this one he gets a star wand.

 Here are the spares... My star for my Christmas tree! well I got my answer to yesterday's question then :-D.

Jaspa got a Battle droid in his Star wars Calendar today. When he saw it, he yelled out to Mummy, "I got a krang droid!" LOL. He got his droids and franchises mixed up.

Spare arms for the droid.  Each one is different.

Jaspa is pleased with his Krang Battle Droid. Another to add to his small droid army.
Chloe was here nor there about hers today. She couldn't even be bothered building it :-/
My astronaut? uh... I must be missing the meaning as to why he is in this set, it's a cool Minifigure but I don't get why... Space was so 2 years ago... and with a wand? ;-P   Maybe you fine folks can enlighten me :-)

LEGO Friends, City, Star Wars Advent Calendar Day Twelve Review.

It's Day 12 today in our Advent Calender reviews and we are now half way in our countdown. The kids had a late night last night as we drove around our local area viewing Christmas light decorations on peoples homes. They always enjoy them but like every year, we have daylight savings and it gets darker later and later, the sun didn't go down til about 9pm. This made them very sleepy this morning which gave me no real reactions to record.
Any way lets see what they got...




Chloe got a couple of presents today :-/ pretty lame IMO. Last years looked heaps better. But Chloe was happy to add these to last years tree, well - until she gets to build one for this year - Tomorrow maybe?

Just the one spare today. I'm starting to get a mighty collection of these.

Well in mine I got the Christmas tree that Chloe needs lol. This is a short and stubby looking tree. Our Minifigures are only one brick in height shorter then this tree.

Just 2 spare translucent pieces with this build.

 In the Star Wars Calendar Jaspa got a mini Low Altitude Assault Transport/carrier or for short a LAAT/c. We see this ship very briefly at the end of EPII AOTC dropping in a AT-TE. That scene looked awesome when I first saw it. It's a great rendition for such a small build.

Here is a shot of the LAAT/c with yesterdays build the AT-TE. I love it! I think it looks really cool.

1 spare for this one too.

Jaspa half asleep, wanted to build today's but he just couldn't... his eyes and hands wouldn't work together :-D He is liking the LAAT/c's play feature and dropping off the AT-TE all around the house.
Chloe liked her presents even if I thought it was a lame effort... But if she is happy with them well then so am I - After all these Calendars are aimed for kids. ;-P
My tree is OK but where is my Star for the top?  :-( It could have been 1 slope higher too.

LEGO Friends, City, Star Wars Advent Calendar Day Eleven Review.

Welcome back for Day 11 in the countdown to Christmas. Today was a mixed bag of emotions for Chloe. She was happy with what she got, but also bummed because its the second day in a row without building a thing. Trying to get Jaspa to pronounce what he got was a total head spin... it's only 4 letters, You think could I get him to say it right? nope... lol. I have to keep reminding myself he is only 3.





When Chloe open her door to her Friends Calendar she sang out "boo yeah! I got some cash... I got some cash! and a basket... oh and some coins..." After her little sing and dance she asked "I didnt get to build anything again?" and handed it to me so I could take the pics. I prompted her to the idea that you need "cash" to buy things from your stalls.  On the door it shows that one of each go into the basket.

Put the lotion in the basket.

Now we are getting somewhere! As each day passes Chloe's Calendar diorama starts to get more livelier.   

Just the one spare today... although it can and will go into her basket.

Behind door number 11 in my City Calendar we got ourselves a BBQ with a lone sausage on the grill with a flame exposed. Good thing we got a firefighter yesterday to keep that flame under control.
 

Here is shot of Day 1 to Day 11 of this Calendar so far.  With the 2 spare sausages and forks (now I'm thinking tongs) in yesterday build, the burglar and police officer line up to get their fill. Today's sausage goes to her trusty dog, who I call Patches.

Here are the spares. I was kind of surprise there was no spare sausages today... but I assume LEGO has a method to their madness by giving you 2 extra yesterday for the Minifigs that have already been built. So any that come now are too late to the party and miss out.

In Jaspa's Star Wars Calendar He got a AT-TE mini build. Now trying to get him to say it was harder then his potty training. He got the "AT" part right but the "TE" was the issue. To him it's an "AT-Tee", His tongue can't separate the T-E so to him it's "Tee"... Getting him to try and say it right was getting him frustrated and in the end, all he would say when I try to pronounce it with him was "That's what I said Daddy!" Oh well... he is 3... I must remember that!
 

Here is a group shot from the start to now. Not a bad looking collection. for me I still cant work out which is my favorite yet. As for Jaspa, it seems the Gun Rack is the most played with at the moment, and the Clone Trooper for switching out the guns with it.

A solid amount of spares today. 

I had some fun with setting up the group shots today. When they are all together they really do pop out and give you a sense of worth. I didn't think I would ever shut up today, its the most words I have written for any of the Advent Calendar reviews... Thanks for sticking with me if you made it to the end.    :-D

LEGO Friends, City, Star Wars Advent Calendar Day Ten Review.

We are now at Day 10 of our Advent Calendars. We got some neat things today. With everyone in a better mood this morning we open our doors with renewed enthusiasm. Let take a quick look at the contents of Day 10.








Chloe was extremely excited to see this accessory pack today! Chloe went on to say that she can now make her Mini-dolls look pretty.

Well I guess yesterdays build was a lead up to today's reveal. Now Chloe has someplace to store all those accessory's. Even if it is a bit full. By adding the previous day's builds, its starting to look really cool.

In my City Calendar I was able to build a female Firefighter! Such a big smile on her. She has a single side face print, printing on both sides of her torso and printed legs. A great looking Minifigure! She also comes with a sausage on a fork and a yellow fire extinguisher.

Some very generous spares today! 2 extra sausages! (awesome!)  and enough parts to build an extra fire extinguisher.

It was so funny seeing how Jaspa reacted today. As soon as he opened his door he yelled out STAR WARS!! as he was jumping up and down. He loves his Clone Troopers as much as his daddy does. The Trooper is pretty common with printing on both sides of his torso. Face printing on one side and printing on his helmet.

Today was a good day, much better then yesterday. We were all happy with what we got. I can add a few sausages to my table from Day 7. Jaspa has another cool Clone Trooper to add to his collection, and Chloe gets to start dressing up her Mini-dolls with hair bows and flowers... in the lead up to Christmas.
